Step into Christmas and 1,000 years of royal history at Windsor Castle.
This festive period, see the State Apartments decorated with magnificent Christmas displays.
The highlight of this year's decorations include a 20-foot-high Nordmann Fir tree in St George's Hall, taken from Windsor Great Park and dressed with thousands of twinkling lights.
Another sparkling Christmas tree will be found in the Crimson Drawing Room – one of the most elaborate Semi-State Rooms, which were created as private apartments for George IV. The rooms are still used today by members of the Royal Family, and are open to visitors over the winter months.
Queen Mary's Dolls' House
For the first time, specially made Christmas decorations will be added to the tiny rooms in Queen Mary's Dolls' House, a 1:12 scale replica of an Edwardian residence gifted from the nation to Queen Mary, consort of King George V. The new decorations, which include a miniature Christmas tree in the Hall and a garland decorating the staircase, will be the final stage in the year-long celebrations marking the centenary of the Dolls' House.
