Working for us
Find out about our huge range of roles and what it's like working for Royal Collection Trust
Jeremy, Curator of Prints and Drawings
We are responsible for all prints, drawings and watercolours in the Royal Collection – more than 150,000 items. These include one of the world's great collections of Old Master drawings, with large groups of material by Leonardo, Holbein, Michelangelo, Poussin, Bernini and Canaletto. Most of the works are housed in the Print Room, part of the historic Royal Library at Windsor Castle.
Each day in the Print Room is different. We can be helping one of the hundreds of researchers who visit each year, while planning future exhibitions at The Queen's Galleries, writing for print or online catalogues, arranging loans to museums and galleries around the world or selecting works to be shown in our travelling exhibitions.
We are always challenging ourselves to share our love of the collection with as wide a public as we can. Our work is highly collaborative – within our team, across Royal Collection Trust, and with the art-historical community worldwide.
To do this job well, it is important to be familiar with drawings and prints as physical objects, not just as art-historical images. Above all, you need the passion and the imagination to find new and thought-provoking ways to bring these works of art to the public.
