Mantel clock mid-nineteenth century

A dark blue ground cartouche-shaped porcelain mantel clock with a floral finial, polychrome flowers and rococo scrolls applied throughout; the lower body pierced with a trellis design, on splayed scroll feet. The eight day locking plate striking mechanism has a going barrel movement and recoil escapement. The silvered dial is engine turned in the centre within a gadrooned gilt metal border and has the 12 hours represented in engraved Roman numerals and a pair of blued steel moon shaped hands.
