-
This medal commemorating King George V's 25 years on the throne has been struck in gold. On the obverse can be seen crowned busts of King George V and Queen Mary, with '6 May 1910 - 1935' in Roman numerals. On the reverse is a view of the Round Tower of Windsor Castle, a symbol of the House of Windsor, which came into being in 1917 after King George V changed the surname of members of the British Royal Family to 'Windsor' by royal proclamation. The Latin motto 'Stet fortuna domus' above the tower means 'let the fortune of the house stand'.
