Oval bowl 1818
-
An oval porcelain bowl painted inside and out with yellow lozenges centred by oval forget-me-not reserves, red guilloche reserves and pink rose buds, a coronet above a gilt E monogram at the bowl's centre.
Provenance
A dinner, dessert, tea and coffee service probably commissioned by Prince Edward, Duke of Kent on his return from Gibraltar, 1808. The whole service comprises a large proportion of pieces made at the Coalport factory, and some further additions which may not have originated from there.
