-
A drawing of a room in which a group of men and women are seated around a table spread with comestibles. On the far right the host in a wide-brimmed hat is shaking hands with a male guest. Behind the table is a curtained four-poster bed. Other people stand in front of the kitchen door on the left. Some of these eleven drawings (RL 12877-12887) correspond very closely with paintings by Horremans, while in others one or more of the figures echo those found in either his red chalk figure drawings or in his paintings. The seated host in this drawing recurs as the subject in the painting of The Shoemaker, Gemäldegalerie, Dresden.
