This room lies to the right of the main entrance and was used as a waiting room.
All the paintings in this room were subsequently affected by a fire on 8th June 1824; clockwise they can be identified as Reynolds full length of the Duc D'Orleans (partially damaged, 404555); small oval of George II (destroyed); Reynolds full length of the Duke of Cumberland (a fragment only surviving, 400972); Greuze full length of Louis XV (destroyed) and Hoppner's Duke of Clarence (partially damaged, 404546). -
