The Prince and his companions had lunch in the shade of the columns, after the Revd Dr Stanley performed divine service in the temple (as it was Sunday). The Prince, in his journal, complained of the extreme heat. He is seated on a rock towards the right of the photograph. Acquired by the Prince of Wales, 1862. From left to right: Jemima Blackburn, artist (see painting below); Ernst II, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha; Alexandrine, Duchess of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha; Robert Meade; Christopher Teesdale; Robert Bruce; Frederick Keppel; the Prince of Wales; unknown man (possibly Dr Minter); Revd Dr Stanley; unknown boy.
