The fourth palace along the right bank was Smith’s residence. In 1740 Smith commissioned Antonio Visentini to rebuild its Gothic façade in the Palladian style. In the 1750s, Smith asked Canaletto to update no. 5. The new facade stands out from the rest of the painting.
