The island of Sant'Elena

Canaletto travelled beyond the centre of Venice, making drawings of lesser known areas of the city. Looking outward into the lagoon from the eastern tip of Venice, he drew the monastery on the island of Sant'Elena, and the same building from a different spot on the Isola di San Pietro.
