The view looks north from the Punta di Sant’Antonio, the south-eastern point of Venice, towards the buildings of the district of Castello. To the left are the churches of San Nicolò da Bari and Sant’Antonio (both since demolished); at the centre is the roof of San Giuseppe, with the pointed tower of Sant’Anna (also demolished) in the distance. To the right are the tower and dome of the cathedral of San Pietro.
