The Grand Canal looking West with the Scalzi and San Simeone Piccolo©

The drawing shows the same stretch of the Grand Canal as the painting, on the right, looking in the opposite direction. In the right foreground is the church of Santa Croce, with the dome of San Simeon Piccolo beyond; to the left are the convent of Corpus Domini, the Scuola dei Nobili, and the churches of Santa Lucia and the Scalzi. Many of the buildings seen here were demolished during the nineteenth century, and the railway station now occupies the area at the left side of this view.
