The Saving of the Infant Pyrrhus
c.1633-4RCIN 911909
Pyrrhus, later king of the Greek tribe of Molossians, was as an infant carried to safety when his father was dethroned in Epirus. His protectors found the river outside Megara impassable; with their enemies in close pursuit, they hurled messages across the river, and the Megarans sent a boat to rescue Pyrrhus.
