Chivalric orders

Ancient chivalric orders, including the Order of the Garter, were revived following the Restoration, with members presented with ornate insignia. Sixty-one badges of the Order of the Bath were commissioned for distribution to newly-created knights at the coronation of Charles II in 1661.
