    Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, third Marquess of Salisbury, was at this time Prime Minister. His grandson Robert later became fifth Marquess of Salisbury, and his granddaughter Beatrice was to marry the fourth Baron Harlech, and to be appointed a Lady of the Bedchamber to Queen Elizabeth in 1941.
