1860RCIN 2931343
Prince Albert was a keen patron of British photography from an early date. His support for photography was an important factor in creating a thriving photographic community in the 1850s. The Prince sought out a wide variety of photographic work and this undoubtedly broadened the Queen’s taste so that, following his death in 1861, she continued to expand her photograph collection.
