Ceremonial of the Coronation of King George IV
The text in this volume was printed in gold, using a technique developed in secret and pioneered in 1816 for an edition of Magna Carta. Despite receiving a grant of £5,000 to produce the Ceremonial, the expense bankrupted Whittaker and only six copies were printed, one for each of the crowned heads of Europe. This volume is thought to be George IV's presentation copy.
