A York address to the whale. Caught lately off Gravesend.

A whale which had washed up on the beach at Gravesend was brought by boat to London on 30 March, where it became a popular, if malodorous, tourist attraction. Rowlandson imagines the Duke of York on his knees, pleading with the whale to distract the public from his own actions.
