While Fox was supported by the Duchess of Devonshire, his main rival in the constituency of Westminster, Sir Cecil Wray, was helped by Albinia, Countess of Buckinghamshire. A prominent society figure, the Countess moved in the same circles as the Duchess, and encountered the same criticisms. Here the two women, in licentious dress, are shown on a see-saw, with their candidates egging them on.
