The premise of this rustic comedy is that in times of ripeness and plenty comes temptation. The plot is easy to grasp: a farmer has caught a young lad misbehaving with his daughter. The abundance of ripe vegetables, the slung-up hare and the knife hanging between the farmer’s legs complete the suggestiveness of the scene.
