Pair of bangles

These bangles were probably made in India, where traditionally one would be worn on each wrist to signify matrimony. Each bangle is set with 39 stones and the gold sides finely engraved. Queen Mary gave them to Princess Elizabeth as a wedding present in 1947 who has worn them frequently since then.
