Clocks in gold, enamelled and applied with coloured gold decoration and strut supports, were produced by Fabergé in large quantities. A design for a similar clock appears in an album from Henrik Wigström’s workshop, where this clock was made. Queen Elizabeth owned several Fabergé clocks and this example was in her collection before 1953. Rectangular strut desk clock of silver gilt and mauve moiré guilloché enamel with applied chased two-colour gold and rose diamond laurel festoons and ribbons; half pearl bezel, white enamel face with the 12 hours represented in Arabic numerals, pierced two colour gold dials and chased gold laurel edge mount; ivory back, scroll strut. 8 day timepiece, 2 going barrels with Swiss lever movement. , Mark of Henrik Wigström; silver mark of 88 zolotniks (1896-1908) Text adapted from Fabergé in the Royal Collection
