Arthur Ellis accompanied the Prince of Wales to the wedding of the prince’s sister-in-law, Maria Feodorovna, to the Tsesarevich Alexander in 1866, and recorded the events in this journal. A mixture of diary and sketches, it describes the ceremonies and characters that the royal party met on their journey.

Presumably presented by the author and artist to the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII
