The firm of Hahn, established by Karl August Hahn in St Petersburg in 1874, was an important supplier to the imperial court and competitor of the Fabergé firm. This snuffbox was a presentation gift made during the reign of Nicholas II.

Purchased by Queen Mary and given to King George V, 1934
