COALPORT PORCELAIN COMPANY [SHROPSHIRE]

Plate

1844

RCIN 58710

This is a sample piece from a service ordered by Queen Victoria for presentation to Nicholas I following his visit in June 1844. The design is based on the service made for William IV by the Worcester porcelain factory in 1831, painted with the British orders of chivalry. This service replaces the British orders with those of the highest Russian imperial orders.
