SOUTHERN INDIAN

Spearhead

seventeenth century

RCIN 37537

This spearhead dates from the late sixteenth century. The finely cut, pierced and chased motifs are similar to carvings found on the monumental South Indian temples constructed in the same period by the Nayaka rulers.
