ATTRIBUTED TO JEAN PELLETIER (ACTIVE C.1681-D. 1705)
Pair of side tables
c.1701RCIN 21597
Jean Pelletier was of French origin but by 1682 he had settled in London. Through the patronage of the francophile Duke of Montagu, who was responsible for overseeing the furnishing of the royal palaces, Pelletier supplied suites of grand giltwood furniture for Hampton Court including these tables, which are probably those delivered in 1701 at a cost of £35 each.
