This marble portrait bust of Queen Victoria wearing State Robes and a crown is the work of the English sculptor Thomas Earle. It was exhibited at the London International Exhibition in 1862. Earle came from a family of sculptors and stonemasons. He trained and worked as modeller and designer in the workshop of Francis Chantrey. He focused in the production of portrait busts and he was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy between 1834 and 1873.
