Wootton's views of Henley-on-Thames
Wootton was the first home-grown English landscape painter of any significance. These three landscapes show Park Place and its estate, which was acquired in 1738 by Frederick, Prince of Wales. One view (cat. 248) is taken from the opposite side of the river; one (cat. 249) shows the view of Henley from the house and one (cat. 250) from the park.
Acquired by Frederick, Prince of Wales
Cats 248, 249 and 250
