Cape Royds - named after Charles Royds, the meteorologist on the Discovery expedition (1901-04) - is the point on Ross Island where Shackleton’s team had built their hut in 1908. It is not far north of Cape Evans where Scott established his team’s hut at the beginning of 1911.
