FRANK HURLEY (1885-1962)
The effect of a blizzard on the flow
Mar 1915RCIN 2580079
Tufted hummocks of ice formed by the ferocity of a blizzard can be seen in the foreground with the Endurance in the background. The usually sharp angles of the rafted ice floes have been softened by a thick fall of snow. Hurley’s photograph makes this hostile environment appear serene and safe.
