FRANK WILD (1873-1939)

Shackleton's last voyage: the story of the 'Quest'

1923

RCIN 1124434

The Quest expedition was intended to circumnavigate Antarctica, and to fix the position of various islands. Unfortunately Shackleton died of a heart attack on 5 January 1922, shortly after the ship reached South Georgia. Frank Wild subsequently took command and wrote this expedition narrative on their return to England.
