Margaret (left) and Mary (right) kneel before an image of St Anne, patron saint of mothers and pregnancy. Her Guild was a charity dedicated to encouraging remarriage and childbirth. The borders are decorated with a naturalistic floral pattern, including daisies (marguerite in French) and Margaret’s motto Bien en aviengne (May good come of it).
