ALBRECHT DÜRER (1471-1528)
Vier Bücher von menschlicher Proportion
1528RCIN 1150983
This is Dürer’s last treatise, on the proportions of the human body. His work was based upon mathematical principles, applied to adults of all sizes, and to children. His fourth book, shown here, demonstrates the effect of motion upon human proportions. The woodcut illustrations designed by Dürer were executed by Hieronymus Andreae, who had also cut woodblocks for Maximilian I’s ambitious projects.
