c.1532-4RCIN 912237
William Reskimer (d.1552) of Cornwall held a number of minor positions at Henry VIII’s court. This drawing, a study for the painting displayed alongside, is on the small-format paper prepared with a pink ground which Holbein favoured during his second visit to England. Holbein followed the drawing closely in the painting.
