    The Derby is a flat horse race open to three-year-old thoroughbred colts and fillies. In 1988 The Queen attended the Derby, accompanied by Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. It was the 209th running of the Derby, and Her Majesty is pictured watching as Kahyasi wins, ridden by Ray Cochrane.
