RCIN 2943909

King George VI died at Sandringham on 6 February. Five days later, on 11 February, the Royal Train brought the King’s coffin to London, where the King would lie in state in Westminster Hall until his funeral at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, on 15 February. Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Mary, and Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother are pictured standing at the entrance to Westminster Hall awaiting the arrival of the King’s coffin for the Lying-in-State.
