A Stag Hunt at Versailles

Set before a magnificent panoramic view of the Palace of Versailles from the south, a group return from the hunt. At the centre the duc de Bourgogne (grandson of Louis XIV) draws his sword ready to deliver the coup de grâce to the captured stag. George IV was fascinated with French taste, in particular that of Louis XIV at Versailles.
