Set of claret glasses
c.1807RCIN 68275
In 1806 on a visit to Liverpool the Prince of Wales attended a lavish dinner hosted by the city, for which the Liverpool Corporation commissioned a cut-glass service. The Prince was so impressed that he asked the Mayor to order this second service for his own use (appropriately engraved with the Prince of Wales’s feathers). It was delivered to Clarence House in 1808.
Commissioned by George IV in 1806
