This group of vases celebrates the defeat of French forces by the Prussians at Dennewitz in 1813. The Victory figure on the central vase was also a tribute to Queen Victoria. At the same time, as godfather to the Prince of Wales, the Prussian King gave Prince Albert a group of three vases (no longer in the Royal Collection) with hindostanisch decorations.
