The Coronation necklace
1858 - 1911RCIN 100003
Following the compulsory return of Queen Charlotte’s jewels to Hanover in 1857, Queen Victoria’s principal jewellery was remade using some recycled and some newly purchased stones (as in this necklace). The earrings re-use stones from the Indian setting of the Koh-i-nûr (see no. 224).
