Photograph of one of Queen Victoria's dogs, a Pekingese called Looty. She is asleep on a chair with a high, ornately carved wooden back. Looty was the first Pekingese dog in Britain, having been brought back from China following the Second Opium War and presented to Queen Victoria in April 1861. Looty was also painted by F W Keyl (RCIN 406974).
