INDIAN

Dagger and scabbard

RCIN 62444

This Indian dagger was presented to George IV when Prince Regent by ‘Mr Croker’ in 1818. The donor was probably John Wilson Croker (1780 – 1857), a writer and politician who was a great favourite at Court. At the king’s special request, Croker accompanied him on his visit to Ireland in 1821.
