This toy theatre shows two scenes from Peter Pan. The creator of Peter Pan, James Barrie was a good friend of Lutyens, and the latter had in fact designed the set for the first production of Peter Pan in 1904. Lutyens's children grew up believing that it was their own nursery window in Bloomsbury that Wendy and the boys flew through to Never Neverland.
