At State Banquets pudding is served on the turquoise-rimmed plates from a service by the Minton factory of Stoke, made for Queen Victoria in 1877. Dessert (fruit) is served on plates from an 18th-century service made in Toumai (in modern day Belgium) and acquired by George IV. Each plate is painted with birds copied from contemporary prints.

The service was made for William IV at the Rockingham factory in Yorkshire and celebrates Britain's maritime achievements and foreign dominions, with pieces modelled as pineapples and guavas.

The figures of French 18th-century biscuit (unglazed) porcelain, mostly acquired by George IV. In earlier times such table decorations were made in icing-sugar and confectioner's paste.
