Join us for this hands on, creative course led by our Artist in Residence from the Royal Drawing School, Sara Lee Roberts.
Inspired by the wide range of figures featured within the drawings on display in our current exhibition, Drawing the Italian Renaissance, this taster course will focus on drawing the human figure, a common muse of the Italian Renaissance Masters.
On a day when The King's Gallery is typically closed to the public, you will have the space to yourself, allowing plenty of opportunity to closely observe and take inspiration from the drawings by artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael and Titian, alongside lesser-known artists of the period.
During the course, Sara will teach you how to make thumbnail sketches in order to see and understand, make pencil sketches of groups of figures using limited colours and to sketch a likeness from a portrait.
With a limited capacity of only 12 available spaces, this course will offer an exclusive opportunity to have the Gallery to yourselves and receive expert guidance from Sara to produce your very own sketch, inspired by these great masters.
