Windsor remained a constant in Her Late Majesty’s life; through childhood, war and 70 years on the throne.
The Castle served as a stage for the great events of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign and as a focus for her leadership of the Church of England, the armed forces, the Order of the Garter and other aspects of national life. At the same time, Windsor was a peaceful refuge in which to raise a family; a place to ride horses with children and great-grandchildren and to enjoy many other private moments that made the Castle her favourite weekend home.
Groups will gain new insights into the function of Windsor Castle and how it shaped Queen Elizabeth II’s life.
