Join us for the latest in our Slow Looking series, in collaboration with the Limina Collective. The practice of Slow Looking provides a unique opportunity for us to explore an artwork through the lens of mindfulness.

Inspired by our current exhibition, Drawing the Italian Renaissance at The King's Gallery, Buckingham Palace, this event will focus on the tension between both perceiving and being perceived, depicted in the portrait of St Thomas, drawn in Red Chalk by Polidoro in c.1527.

In this event, Karly Allen from the Limina Collective will lead us through a series of relaxing and reflective exercises including meditation, guided looking and journaling. Karly will also be joined by our exhibition curator, Lauren Porter, who will share some information on the biography of Polidoro, one of the lesser-known artists showcased in this exhibition, as well as the medium and techniques he used to create this striking portrait.

This event is a wonderful opportunity to take a moment of rest for yourself during a busy day, focus your gaze on some beautiful artwork and share your perceptions in a peaceful, calming atmosphere.

The income from your ticket contributes directly to The Royal Collection Trust, a registered charity. The aims of The Royal Collection Trust are the care and conservation of the Royal Collection, and the promotion of access and enjoyment through exhibitions, publications, loans and educational activities.
