Working for us

Find out about our huge range of roles and what it's like working for Royal Collection Trust

  • Our roles

Emily, Press Officer

Royal Collection Trust has its own Press Office, and we work in close collaboration with the Royal Communications team at Buckingham Palace, who manage media relations on behalf of members of the Royal Family. Our job is to publicise the huge range of Royal Collection Trust's activities, from our exhibitions and events programme to our children's books and exclusive merchandise.

Working with print, broadcast and online media, both national and international, we sell in news stories and features, stage photo calls, manage media facilities and host press views. We also arrange filming and recording at Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, often working with broadcast partners on television or radio series to accompany our exhibitions. It is particularly valuable to sit alongside the Marketing team, so our activities are completely integrated.

The Palaces and the Royal Collection offer an endless supply of stories and material with which to build strong media campaigns. Coming into direct contact with the works of art, getting under the skin of a subject and seeing an exhibition come to fruition, from the initial project meeting to a successful launch day, is incredibly satisfying.

Good communication skills and sound judgement are essential for all roles within the Press Office, as is the ability to juggle lots of competing demands – and of course you must have an eye for a good story.
