The Temple of Isis and the surrounding structures were built during the late Ptolemaic and early Roman periods (Egypt became part of the Roman Empire in 30 BC). The Kiosk of Trajan shows carvings of the Roman Emperor Trajan (r.AD 98 – 117) burning incense before the Egyptian gods Osiris and Isis. Acquired by the Prince of Wales, 1862
